The Calgary Stampede and the Alberta Young Speakers for Agriculture are excited to announce the Youth Agriculture Speaking Championships for youth who are passionate about public speaking & agriculture with $15,000 in prizes and awards! Winners will also receive an all-expensed paid trip to Toronto to compete in the Canadian Young Speakers for Agriculture Finals in November.
Contestants will have the opportunity to speak 5-7 minutes on one of five agriculture-related topics. Youth participants are NOT required to have an agriculture background, rather only a desire to learn and speak about one of the topics related to agriculture, Agri-tech or Agri-Food.
The competition is open to youth ages 11-24 years old. Youth who are 11-15 years old by Nov. 2, 2024 are in the Junior Division; and youth who are 16-24 years old by Nov. 2, 2024 are in the Senior Division.
While Alberta Young Speakers for Agriculture program has hosted youth speaking competitions for nearly the last decade, there are several exciting changes for 2024, including:
